Explainer Animation: BERRI Case Study

July 8, 2019 by Joe Jones

BERRI has the potential to improve the lives of thousands of children in the UK, whilst reducing the cost of their care. We created this animated explainer showing a real-life example* of how this innovate system works.

Transcript

Daniel was a troubled 14 year old, placed into foster care.

Each time he was placed with a family, something would go wrong – and he would have to be moved on.

He went through 6 foster homes like this.

Then two children’s homes.

Everyone believed that Daniel was headed for a worse destination.

At that point his care workers used BERRI.

Daniel’s mother had died not long after the argument that led to him coming into Care.

He was still grieving, and carrying an unbearable level of guilt.

He feared getting close to anyone else.

So he hid his depression behind his destructive behaviour.

Medication to relieve his depression helped him to open himself up to therapy.

Bereavement therapy helped Daniel understand his Mum’s death was not his fault, and allowed him to form new relationships with caregivers.

Almost immediately, Daniel’s life began to turn around.

Within a few months he was able to move out of the care home, into a new foster placement which, 18 months later, is still going well.

He was able to engage better in school, make new friends and see a more optimistic future.

BERRI had helped Daniel’s social worker and carers to see clearly what was required.

Using BERRI helped to give Daniel a better life, and it also saved a lot of money.

Had this intervention happened earlier, the tremendous cost (personal and financial) to Daniel, his carers and the public purse could have been avoided.

An estimated £120,000 per year has been saved by providing the right resources to Daniel.

Across the UK there are potentially thousands of children in a similar situation.

It’s time to do something about it.

About Video Explainers

We produced this animation from scratch for Lifepsychol Ltd, to help people understand the impact of their innovation and to attract the attention of investors and potential customers.

Animation is a great way – sometimes the only way – to illustrate a powerful concept that can’t necessarily be shown physically.

It allows you to concentrate the viewer’s attention on just the salient information and – where necessary – to avoid issues of representation that might otherwise detract from the central points being made.

Explainer Animations are a highly effective way to raise awareness of an innovative technology, product, service or process. For more information please contact us.

Explainer Animation: AquaSaver

July 8, 2019 by Joe Jones

Did you know that 4-10 Litres of water are wasted every time you run the hot tap and wait for the hot water to arrive?

Aquasaver is a simple device that automatically diverts the cooled water back into the system to be recycled.

Transcript:

When you turn on the hot tap, there is usually a delay before the hot water arrives. The cold water in the pipe goes straight down the drain.

The amount of water wasted depends upon the length of pipe
between the hot water source and the tap.

In a typical house, between 4 and 10 litres of fresh water are wasted every time a hot tap is used. Aquasaver is a simple, inexpensive system that reduces this water wastage.

Aquasaver redirects the cold water back into the system where it can be recycled for toilet cisterns, washing machines or garden water storage.

When the hot water arrives at the tap, Aquasaver lets it through.

Aquasaver works with a range of hot water sources – such as immersion heaters or combination boilers, and can easily be fitted in houses, offices, hotels, boats – in fact, anywhere that hot water is used.

Saving Water is good for the environment, and will save money where water is metered.

Aquasaver – saving water, saving money.

About Explainer Animations

We produced this animation from scratch for Advanced Water Save Ltd, to help people understand the impact of their innovation and to attract the attention of investors and potential customers.

Animation is a great way – sometimes the only way – to show how a system works that would be completely hidden in real life.

It allows you to concentrate the viewer’s attention on the information you want to convey; they won’t be distracted by background detail, like what age the house is or the apparent income bracket of the occupants.

Explainer Animations are a highly effective way to raise awareness of an innovative technology, product, service or process.

Underpin & Makegood Group – Branding

February 28, 2019 by Joe Jones

Complete branding package for group of companies that previously had operated under separate names and visual identities. Our approach was to create a single stylised ‘building’ device, with one ‘floor’ representing each company within the group. Colour coding was used to differentiate the groups in certain instances.

The name “U&M Group” and strapline “Experience and Expertise” were created, following a Business Discovery workshop.

Work included stationery, signage, vehicle livery, staff uniforms and a revamped corporate website.

Villiers Brothers – Strategic Marketing

May 1, 2019 by Joe Jones

For over 25 years the Villiers Brothers have been creating stunning high-end furniture and sculpture using a blend of traditional metalworking techniques, inspired designs and cutting-edge technology.

Whilst they have prestigious clients worldwide and have achieved many accolades, we were engaged to explore further opportunities for marketing their work more widely and taking fuller advantage of digital channels.

We delivered a brand refocus and digital marketing strategy to refocus their messaging on their authentic offer – setting them apart from any competition and communicating the passion, craft and sheer hard work involved in creating their pieces.
